2019 U.S. Open - Quick Analysis

We got some big guns that are among the favorites talk this week at Pebble Beach. Keopka, Johnson, Woods, and McIlroy are getting a lot of buzz. They are favorites looking at this U.S. Open on paper, and the bookies agree.

Looking at past winners at Pebble may be an indicator of who might win on Sunday. Although the course will be playing much harder for the U.S. Open, having past success here may be a big help with confidence and comfort. The course does not play long, even this week; it will be under 7,000 yards, so we may see more players who are under the radar that could be threats. Here are notable past winners that have a track record that could pull off a 2019 U.S. Open victory:

Phil Mickelson:         2005, 2007 & 2019 Pro-Am Winner and 2016 & 2018 Runner Up

Jordan Spieth:          2017 Pro-Am Winner

Dark Horse: Kind of like Brandt Snedeker as a Dark Horse pick to win or at the very least, perform very well this week. He has been playing better as of late and shot a 60 at the RBC. He has the past success at Pebble, has the short game, and possibly the fire to get his first major.

Prediction: He has been struggling for a while, but has heated up recently. We may be seeing him finally relax and just play golf again. Jordan Spieth has the chance to launch himself back into the winner's circle if he can just go out and have fun. That's how close he is, if he just goes out and plays his game, he's got incredible talent to win by not even playing his best. We know that Jordan is almost back, and feel it might be this weekend where we see his first victory in nearly two years.
